This Autumn, Brent Bookwalter finds himself among their number for the first time in his career. The American spent eleven seasons in the colours of BMC, and while tenured positions don't exist in professional cycling, he was all but a part of the fittings at the American-Swiss squad. A guarantee. One year, he even renewed his contract in February.

Longtime friends, Brent and Ted have had careers run in tandem to each other. Teammates on the US national team, teammates on domestic pro teams, they migrated to Europe together, and even lived together in their early time racing abroad.

Brent Bookwalter is joining a new team, usually not that big of a deal in cycling, but it is considering the Rockford native's past. The former Olympian and four-time Tour de France rider has left BMC Racing Team after 11 years and will join Mitchelton-SCOTT.

After spending his entire career with the BMC Racing Team, Brent Bookwalter is set to move to Mitchelton-Scott next season. The 34-year-old is the first American to sign for the men's team since their inception in 2012.
