2016 Tour de France – Stage 10

Escaldes-Engordany – Revel---197 km

An uphill start after a day off from racing at the Tour de France was not what many riders were looking forward to Tuesday.

But two of Brent’s teammates, Damiano Caruso and Greg Van Avermaet, were up to the challenge. They became part of a 15-man breakaway from which eventually seven riders contested the finish. Van Avermaet finished fourth, as Michael Matthews (Orica-Bike Exchange) took the win.

“Apparently some dudes had a full tank after that rest day,” Brent tweeted after thee race. “No one got into that break without deserving it. Stout riding Greg and Damiano!”

Wednesday’s stage is 197 kilometers, from Carcassonne to Montpellier.
